The publication of this monograph was accompanied, in January 2007, by a season of screenings of eight quota films at the National Film Theatre (BFI South Bank), London. Chibnall advised on the selection of the prints from the National Film Archive, wrote programme notes for seven of the screenings, and delivered a public lecture at the NFT on the consequences of the 1927 Cinematograph Films Act for low-budget production in Britain. Papers based on this research were delivered at The Screen Conference, Glasgow; The Institute of Historical Research, London (invited), and the Michael Powell Centenary Conference, University of Bangor in 2005.en
