Ateliere de muncă în folosul comunităţii în România, plecând de la experienţă elveţiană

The article presents the experience of the Swiss organisation VEBO (the Association for the Development of Probation in Eastern Europe) and the Probation Direction within the Romanian Ministry of Justice, with implementing two community service workshops in Romania. The project started in 2006 and reached the implementation stage in 2009 with the opening of a first workshop in the city of Brasov. The article also elaborates on the legal basis for community service in Switzerland, as well as the experience of the Swiss organisation ZSGE (the Zürich Foundation for the Support of Inmates and Parolees) and of the Zürich Justice Authority in implementing a community service workshop that represents the model for the Romanian project.
