Abstract

Description

Commissioned by the Home Secretary as part of the Child Sex Offender Review (CSOR) that reported in 2007 (£22k). Wood was principal investigator, secured the bid, led the research team and wrote 70% of the final report. The study influenced government policy decisions around ‘public disclosure’ of sex offenders, received national media attention and is cited in the Home Office policy document: Review of the Protection of Children from Sex Offenders (2007). In addition, the models of work with offenders detailed in the report form the basis of forthcoming Home Office policy guidance for MAPPA.
