High Late-Modernists or Post-Modernists? Vanguard and Linguistically Innovative British Poetries since 1960

This chapter tracks developments in Contemporary British Vanguard poetry through concerns with the challenge of the long poem, attitudes towards language, the problem of categorisation, notions of poetic community, and the idea of late twentieth century vanguard poetry as a war poetry.
