Abstract

Exquisite Remains was a durational ekphrastic dialogue, performed by Jim Burrows, Claire Doyle and Frances Kay at Tate Liverpool as part of Concurrent 3: Exchanges through Improvisation on the 22nd of February 2017.

During gallery opening hours, Burrows, Doyle and Kay produced a continuous, improvised and intermedial response to artworks in the Tate Constellations collection, and to the interpretative drawings of visiting school children. Drawings were collected through a bespoke children's drawing area with embedded digital scanner.

Collected images alongside the Tate's Constellation collection were abstracted and remediated through dance, sculpture and augmented spoken word (loop pedal).
