dc.description.abstract | This entry discusses participatory theater in India. Participatory theater is a dramatic mode in which audience members contribute to the ideas or plotlines of a performance, or engage as actors themselves. We illustrate this with an account of a community play in a low-income neighborhood in India, produced as part of an interdisciplinary, collaborative global public health partnership that aimed to explore the mental health challenges and opportunities for resilience for internal migrants in Pune, India using theater storytelling practices. | |
