dc.description.abstract | Portfolio containing works 'Pod' and Colony' exhibited during 2016/17. In the sound art discipline, these works are significant in terms of their public exposure and wilful engagement with audiences of a diverse range of ages and backgrounds outside of the academic, gallery or concert hall context. The Colony installation at Kendal Calling received over 10,000 visits in three days and the Science Museum installation of Pod is intended to run for five years at projected audience numbers of 3 million a year. The works are intended to broaden understanding of sound and the act of listening and aim to engage an audience totally unfamiliar with these concepts | en |
