Abstract
Description
This report serves as an update on the work of the Decolonising DMU project. Building on the Decolonising DMU: Interim Report (Hall et al., 2022), it details the project’s change in emphasis, from work streams to themed commitments. The decision to restructure the project's work came about as part of its transition to business as usual inside the University. As the funded element of the project closed, it was important to map the institution’s Race Equality Charter (REC) action plan across our decolonising work, whilst also considering the new institutional strategy “The Empowering University”.
Here we present the focus of our work over the last 22 months, organized under four commitments.
• Equity in Education and Research
• Progression, Talent and Representation
• Governance and Accountability
• Raising Awareness, Changing Culture and Behaviour
Keywords
SOCIAL SCIENCES::Social sciences::Education, decolonising, higher education
