A review of the cost model development process.

This paper examines the stages of the cost model development process which are shared by the many state-of-the-art techniques and processes, used to facilitate cost estimation within the manufacturing engineering environment. Similarly, a review of mathematical and computational methods of developing cost estimating relationships is undertaken. Finally, the COSTMOD methodology, an enhanced cost model development process, is compared and contrasted to traditional methods.
