Abstract
What are the methods and methodologies of practice-based-research in theatre, performance, and arts practices, and what might these offer to students in an educational context? Performance practitioners (particularly those working within Higher Education) often wrestle with the connection between or interaction of ‘theory’ and ‘practice’, but in an interdisciplinary arena such as performance studies, how do we navigate – as researchers, educators, and students – the potential pitfalls of distinctly separating ‘theory’ from ‘practice’ or, alternately, of considering them one and the same? Case study: Performance Lab module at King’s College London.
