Abstract

Life cycle cost (LCC) is truly representative to the total cost of an aircraft through its life cycle. It is usually used for estimating the cost-effectiveness of an aircraft design. For enabling LCC estimation at early stage, A LCC model have been being developed for aircraft wing under the umbrella of Integrated Wing Advanced Technology Validation Programme in United Kingdom. Object-oriented and hierarchical approaches are used for LCC modelling. The cost estimation is based on bottom-up approach. The developed LCC model is generic, and can be customized and applied for estimating the costs of other aircraft systems.
