Abstract
Electricity is emerging as the preferred fuel of choice in Asia and the demand for electricity is rising. However, there is significant variation in terms of electricity use as well as electricity system performance in the region. There is also the issue of universal electricity access and high fossil fuel dependence. This chapter provides a brief review of the electricity supply and demand in Asia and presents the future outlook.
