Abstract

Description

This first global assessment of these unique data was key to unlocking the potential of burst echoes over land and inland water (see http://earth.esa.int/raies/) ; co-authors are from SciSys and ESA ESRIN. This work led to the 2007 successful bid for the ESA Cryosat-2 initiative, to develop simulations and predictions for the response of the CryoSat-2 altimeter over land , inland water and ocean, in a consortium bid with Satellite Observing Systems, Starlab, DMU, the Danish National Space Centre and Univ. Southampton (NOCS), and won in global competitive tender.
