Abstract
This keynote will present a philosophical perspective on the co-operative relationships between musicians and their technology. It will explore notions of embodiment and augmented relationships between the musicians and their machines through a concept described as The Living Score. Through this concept Vear will present ideas from his on-going research about embodied intelligence and co-operative musicking (Small) within the Flow of music. And he will demonstrate some of his current practice based research, including a collaboration with Anne La Berge, and a Robot named Max. The overarching aim is to understand how we can better create and innovate with our friends the machine and its code
