Abstract
Description
This paper describes how geometric primitives can be used to model type-1 and type-2 fuzzy sets. This novel approach gives the fuzzy community a new computational model for processing fuzzy systems. The impact of this paper comes from the type-2 geometric model. The computational complexity of type-2 fuzzy systems is notoriously high. The geometric approach gives a real opportunity for a massive reduction in this computation, some of which is demonstrated. The increased accuracy of the geometric approach is also demonstrated with examples. This result has appeared in one of the leading journals in the field with impact factor 1.803
