Abstract

The early stages of my work in art-technology practice and research were covered in the previous edition of the book of which this is the second edition: ‘Explorations in art and technology’. The research—which vastly underpins visible outputs—is a continuum from before that time to the present. To give a complete picture, one ongoing work, completed public projects, and details of recent collaborations are covered. The landscape for art-technology practice has changed since the first edition of ‘Explorations’, when ‘digital art’ was held to follow ‘a separate aesthetic’. This chapter documents public work carried out at that crucial period, as well as recent collaborations and independent research in the field, spanning a period of ongoing practice over 18 years in the field.
