Abstract

Symposium organised by artist & academic Ruth Sumner, Louise Clarke was invited to be part of the panel, interview Marcelle Hanselaar and Bronwen Sleigh and take part in the final discussion, Q+A.

Through interviews and panel discussions the symposium revealed different research approaches to making and creating new art work in an inspiring and thought provoking day. Designed for artists and arts audiences, the day comprised of four illustrated interviews investigating the process of creating a new series of work from conceiving the idea through to making and presenting. The event was compared by curator Hugo Worthy.

Louise Clarke curated :Xenotopia (2015), a group exhibition which presented original print based art works, extending the field of contemporary printmaking practices. The invitation to contribute, interview and help facilitate discussion recognises :Xenotopia and print as her specialist academic and artistic research area.
