Understanding Contemporary Business Environment

Contemporary businesses are facing varieties of challenges more than ever before. People studying and/or doing business are interested in investigating business issues. Interestingly, along with the interest and study, more issues are identified. This paper takes three business examples from less developed economies, large businesses and modern-day businesses. Then, it attempts to unpack the reasons for failure, which is discussed in three different ways – the type of business, business model and location. Since these cases are context-specific, further research is recommended for generalisation.
