Abstract

Description

This article is a collaborative piece written by four members of Central England People First and an academic partner. It is an evaluative account of the development and implementation of a ‘training for trainers’ project whereby people with learning difficulties devised, provided and refined a two-day training event to encourage other people with learning difficulties to become trainers themselves. The programme was delivered to eighty participants in sites around England, and the model developed has since been disseminated as an example of good practice by the Social Care Institute for Excellence, and Research in Practice for Adults.
