Abstract

Assessing the current learning, knowledge-creating and disseminating issues, this chapter examines whether the existing approaches to creating and disseminating knowledge in HE are appropriate for SMEs. What can these organisations do together to create and disseminate knowledge for businesses? Finally, this chapter proposes a collaborative approach to creating knowledge for enterprises – HEIs and FEIs are good at analysing events, and SMEs are good at providing context from first-hand experience. It is suggested that ‘educating the enterprise’ requires more complex, dynamic, and creative forms of learning inherent in enterprise education. Therefore, the collaborative approach is the best option to create and disseminate context-specific knowledge when educating enterprises.
