Abstract
Description
The research reported here presents a new fuzzy approach to computer aided medical diagnosis in clinical settings and shows the relevance and possible uses of fuzzy cognative maps and fuzzy logic. A new constraint satisfaction method is introduced which uses the temporal uncertainty in symptom durations that may occur with particular diseases. The work is important for allowing a formal methodology for the use of type-1 and type-2 fuzzy logic in clinical environments.
