This paper presents the first taxonomy of advanced naturally ventilated (ANV) buildings and synthesises the concept design expertise accumulated through 10 years of ANV building design. The paper draws particularly on experience from the Judson College Library, and the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (UCL) (see other Lomas Outputs) and the Lanchester Library at Coventry University (see RA5 Esteem). The paper builds on a keynote presentation made at the World Renewable Energy Conference 2005. It led to invitations to speak at the RIBA Futures Fair 07 and the CIBSE Natural Ventilation and Building Regulations seminar, and to the invitation to sit on the CIBSE Weather Data Task Force.en
