Influence of India’s transformation on residential energy demand
This paper analyses the economic and demographic transformation taking place in India and estimates the implication of these changes on residential energy demand up to 2030 horizon. It uses a bottom-up modelling approach for the demand analysis and finds that unless mitigation measures are taken, the demand will explode. There is a window of opportunity for improving energy efficiency to manage the demand.
