Item Open Access ACM Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct(Association for Computing Machinery, 2018-06-22) Gotterbarn, D. W.; Brinkman, Bo; Flick, Catherine; Kirkpatrick, Michael S.; Miller, Keith; Vazansky, Kate; Wolf, Marty J.Computing professionals' actions change the world. To act responsibly, they should reflect upon the wider impacts of their work, consistently supporting the public good. The ACM Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct ("the Code") expresses the conscience of the profession. The Code is designed to inspire and guide the ethical conduct of all computing professionals, including current and aspiring practitioners, instructors, students, influencers, and anyone who uses computing technology in an impactful way. Additionally, the Code serves as a basis for remediation when violations occur. The Code includes principles formulated as statements of responsibility, based on the understanding that the public good is always the primary consideration. Each principle is supplemented by guidelines, which provide explanations to assist computing professionals in understanding and applying the principle.Item Metadata only Advances in computational analysis of gene expression profiles (invited paper)(2005) Seker, H.; Gongora, Mario AugustoItem Embargo Are codes of ethics relevant?(2017-11) Rogerson, SimonThis short piece introduces issue of the Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society which focuses on professionalism in the development and implementation of ICT. It questions the commonly held view that codes are paramount in developing ethically sound software. Thus the papers in the issue are situated in a broader context.Item Metadata only ASDL: a wide spectrum language for designing web services(2006-05-01) Zedan, Hussein; Cau, A. Besides the camera can be shifted left/upwards in proportion with the share of pixel dimensions of itself and is equipped with external micro movement mechanism. The greyness level (0-255) of image pixel values can be individually screened by means of software. The evaluations of the screened image pixel are a) image reception under normal conditions, b) reception and arithmetic operations overlapped with the first following the micro shift of the camera. By this method, the CDD resolution is increased artificially by dividing the hybrid pixels which can not be seen in objective detail sides in the image.Item Metadata only Cognitive styles and computer-based creativity support systems: two linked studies of electro-acoustic music composers(Springer Verlag, 2008) Eaglestone, B.; Ford, N.; Holdridge, P.; Carter, JennyItem Open Access Collaborative research and sharing data ahead of paper publication: A case study of De Montfort University’s Dr. Fabio Caraffini(2019-10-03) Caraffini, Fabio; Hardeman, M.• By sharing his high-resolution, multispectral images prior to a paper publication on DMU Figshare, Fabio and his colleagues are building public engagement with their research. • Storing large amounts of data in DMU Figshare allows Fabio and his colleagues to link to that data in a paper, which they would have otherwise just had to describe in the body of the paper.Item Open Access Common Criteria Protection Profile for Secure Communication Module for Water Tracking System(Common Criteria Portal, 2015-10-15) Bingol, Muhammed Ali; Kocabas, Unal; Kardas, SuleymanThe Target of Evaluation (TOE) as defined in this Protection Profile is the Secure Communication Module for Water Tracking System (WTS). The TOE collects information from input devices such as pH sensor, conductivity sensor, temperature sensor, flow meter, RFID / 2D barcode reader, etc., and then it sends these collected data to the Data Management Center (DMC). In this section, first the overall Water Tracking System is introduced. Then, details of Secure Communication Module (TOE) are given. Afterwards the components of TOE, the cryptographic operations performed by TOE and the capabilities of TOE are introduced.Item Open Access A comparative study of fuzzy logic controllers for autonomous robots.(2006-07-01) Coupland, Simon; Gongora, Mario Augusto; John, Robert, 1955-; Wills, K.Item Metadata only A compositional event and time-based policy model(2006-06-01) Cau, A. Many of the problems associated with mismanagement in research could be eradicated if people did not try to evaluate research results immediately after publication.Item Metadata only Emotionally expressive music based interaction language for social robots(2009) Ayesh, Aladdin, 1972-Item Metadata only Emotionally motivated reinforcement learning based controller(IEEE, 2004) Ayesh, Aladdin, 1972-Item Metadata only Extended grey numbers and their operations(2007-10-01) Yang, YingjieItem Open Access Giving Sounds a New Though(Vortex Temporum, 2024-02-06) Landy, LeighThis is a commissioned podcast in the Vortex Temporum series, number 25 in which the author/composer was asked to think out loud about a topic regarding today's sonic creativity. It focuses a dialogue between the composer and recycled samples from his Radio Series (2007-present) after an introduction in which he shares his sadness about the lack of impact of most innovative music suggesting that things don't have to be this way. He attempts to demonstrate, as stated in German in the final sample of this podcast, that 'everything that you hear turns into musical sound'.Item Metadata only GNSS & healthcare(2008) Goodyer, E. N.
