J.; Scott, K.Anger, aggression and confrontational behaviour (Greitzer et al., 2012) is one of 12 psychosocial precursors linked to malicious insider threat activity. Although there is not a given threshold at which these become a cause for concern, the manifestation of anger through aggressive language becomes relevant to indicate a potential insider threat, in particular when patterns outside of normal behaviour are observed. In previous work we have shown how an ultrametric (Murtagh et al., 2008, Contreras et al., 2012) can be used to create hierarchical clusters in constant algorithmic time. In this work we introduce the use of such ultrametric applied to textual data in order to cluster anomalous aggressive behaviour. Our interest lies in detecting anomalies that can be used in conjunction with other behavioural precursors (e.g. stress, network tra c, etc.) to detect an insider threat.Item Metadata only Computational Properties of Fiction Writing and Collaborative Work(Springer, 2013) Reddington, J.; Murtagh, F.; Cowie, D.From the earliest days of computing, there have been tools to help shape narrative. Spell-checking, word counts, and readability analysis, give today's novelists tools that Dickens, Austen, and Shakespeare could only have dreamt of. However, such tools have focused on the word, or phrase levels. In the last decade, research focus has shifted to support for collaborative editing of documents. This work considers more sophisticated attempts to visualise the semantics, pace and rhythm within a narrative through data mining. We describe real life applications in two related domains.Item Metadata only Item Metadata only Exploring the Relationship of Citation and Article Level Metrics with Linguistic Patterns and Quantities(2015) Casey, Arlene; Ahmadi, Samad; Murtagh, F.Item Metadata only Fast hierarchical clustering from the Baire distance(Springer, 2010) Contreras, P.; Murtagh, F.Item Metadata only Fast, linear time hierarchical clustering using the Baire metric(2012) Contreras, P.; Murtagh, F.Item Metadata only Item Metadata only From data to the p-adic or ultrametric model(2009) Murtagh, F.Item Metadata only Hierarchical clustering of massive, high dimensional data sets by exploiting ultrametric embedding(SIAM, 2008) Murtagh, F.; Downs, G.; Contreras, P.Item Metadata only History of cluster analysis(2014) Murtagh, F.Item Metadata only Inpainting and zooming using sparse representations(2009) Fadili, M.
