Item Open Access Biopsy Needle Segmentation using Deep Networks on inhomogeneous Ultrasound Images(2022-07-11) Zhao, Yue; Lu, Yi; Lu, Xin; Jing, J.; Tao, L.; Chen, X.In minimally invasive interventional surgery, ultrasound imaging is usually used to provide real-time feedback in order to obtain the best diagnostic results or realize treatment plans, so how to accurately obtain the position of the medical biopsy needle is a problem worthy of study. 2D ultrasound simulation images containing the medical biopsy needle are generated, and our images background is from the real breast ultrasound image. Based on the deep learning network, the images containing the medical biopsy needle are used to analyze the effectiveness of different networks for needle localization for the purpose of returning needle positions in non-uniform ultrasound images. The results show that attention U-Net performed best and can accurately reflect the real position of the medical biopsy needle. The IoU and Precision can reach 90.19% and 96.25%, and the Angular Error is 0.40°.Item Metadata only Distributed Integrated Care Services and Systems(2012) Moore, Philip R.; Wong, Chi Biu; Chen, X.; Goodyer, E. Some of these tools are well-integrated, but other tools can hardly exchange any data. One of the main barriers impeding the implementation of existing integration solutions relates to the mutually diverse requirements of the mechatronics disciplines involved. In order to overcome these barriers, this research study approaches systems integration from a data modelling view point. A middle-in data modelling strategy is presented, which goes beyond present strategies in fulfilling multidisciplinary requirements and in maintaining data model consistency. Such an approach has been successfully applied within the engineering design process concerning body shop production lines for the automotive industry.Item Open Access Rising Star Evaluation in Heterogeneous Social Network(IEEE, 2018-03-07) Ding, F.; Liu, Y.; Chen, X.; Chen, FengRising stars are junior individuals in the social network who will have high impacts with time accumulation. Rising star evaluation has become a research hotspot in network analysis area recently, which is helpful for decision support, resource allocation, and other practical problems. As a traditional social network, academic social network is stressed because of its heterogeneity and regular data structure. In this paper, we assume there are inside factors influencing individuals behaviors. We process the network parameters and mine inner factors via factor analysis, and train a decision tree to evaluate furture impact. Experiment is processed on America Physics Society(APS) dataset, and the result shows our method has better performance than state-of-the-arts.
