Description

Paper derived from plenary presentation at prestigious international conference held in Canada by the International Association for Social Work with Groups, which is based in the USA. The paper’s core thesis is also developed in chapters by Ward in both editions of Adams et al, ‘Social Work: Themes, Issues and Critical Debates’ (1998 & 2002) from where it is frequently cited as providing an original and critical perspective on contemporary developments in the practice of groupwork.
