Abstract

Description

This chapter appears in a prestigious textbook alongside contributions from world leading victimologists. The chapter was jointly written between the author and Brian Williams and examines the role of voluntary agencies in providing support to victims of crime. It explores forms that support may take and discusses some of the agencies responsible for providing this. This is set alongside a discussion of how services developed in Europe. Willan states: “This handbook will be fundamental reading for students and academics studying victims and victimology and an essential reference tool for those working within the victim support environment.”
