Abstract

Description

There is a long established quantitative information system literature on the factors that influence IT adoption. That literature has been extended into developing countries. This paper contributes to specific studies that have centred round a national government-sponsored decision support system in Egypt. The paper uses an adapted Technology Acceptance Model to examine how organisational characteristics affect IT adoption. Significantly, it recognises the need for cultural studies which go beyond the characteristics identified by Hofstede and the study of the cultural characteristics of computer systems themselves.
